Autumn sneak peek

Hello, dear blog people out there! It's been almost a week since my last post but I have my reasons. There's something wrong with my laptop and I've been visiting relatives. But I've got some cool stuff in store for you!

Coming up this fall:

Today:

\\

Today I'm going to share a really easy recipe with you. It's originally supposed to be a bundt cake but I made cupcakes. You don't need any fancy products and it's really simple to make. If you have two muffin forms, it will take you about 40 minutes to make and bake, plus cleaning up!

So here it is:

Mix the products in a bowl in this order. I used apricot jam but you can use any kind you like. In the end, you should have 22-24 cupcakes.

This is how your mixture should look like.
I preheated the oven to 180 degrees [C] before I started making the cupcakes. Bake for about 15 minutes.
When your cupcakes are ready, you can "decorate" with cinnamon and powdered sugar.

Bon Appetit!

Tuesday: 5 Likes

It's Tuesday again and it's time for my new 5 likes. Here they are:

1. The city of Barcelona
I love that place. Amazing! If you haven't been there yet, consider it. And also, if you haven't seen the movie Vicky Christina Barcelona yet, consider that, too.

2. Rolling Stone Magazine
source
They used to publish it in Bulgarian but it didn't have enough readers [apparently]. I loved it, though, I have almost all the issues. I think I'll share my collection someday.
3. Ginger hair
source
I kind of have this obsession with ginger hair. I want to dye my hair ginger one day but I think I'll do it after I graduate. That way, when I go to college, no one will know how I looked before and they won't tell me: "Oh, you looked so much better with your natural color!"

4. Green Tea
source
I LOVE green tea. I drink a cup every morning and it's the best way to start my day.

5. The smell of new school books
source
Ok, that one is really weird, especially according to my mom. She says it's kind of creepy that I like the smell of glue on school books. It probably is kind of creepy but I had this friend in middle school that loved that too and we felt like soul mates back then. Everybody has a weird side, right?

I hope you enjoyed my 5 likes and have a great Tuesday!

Some photos from my trip

Okey, so here are the photos I promised to you and to my friend Jay.
Jay, if you're reading this - now you can see that Bulgaria and New Zealand have a lot in common - they're both beautiful, for starters.

A beautiful sunset and bad zoom

my parents

these are the Belogradchik Rocks [according to Google]

and again

I don't really know which river this is but the place is lovely!

A weekend away

This was my first "road trip" ever since I came back from Germany. Honestly, I really haven't been in the mood for that stuff lately but my parents insisted, so I went with them. It was nice, though. I think I'll share some more photos soon because we visited really beautiful places.
It was about 1000 degrees outside, so it wasn't all pleasant but it was worth it. I finally felt like I wasn't totally wasting my holidays, and that's good!
Here's a photo of me... well, actually two photos of me my dad took today. We were walking around in this huge park/forest and we sat by the river for a while to escape the heat. It was really pretty there, I have to say.

Well, now that one of my dreams - to write a fancy description under my photo, has come true, I can go sleep tight. I wish you a nice Sunday!

I decided I'll share some lyrics with you today

Show your hands
if you need a new coat of paint

if your bones are now heavy things
like anchors hidden somewhere 'neath your skin

or if your head's just an empty box
if your heart has become spare parts
if your days are now just something you must bear

well, oh, it seems you're a lot like me
you dug yourself into places
you never thought you would be
but don't you fret, and don't you mind
the only constant is change
and you never know what you'll find

yeah, tomorrow I might wake up nice and clean
and I might believe the things I said I didn't mean
and this might turn and wind up just the way we'd dreamed
and I might become the things I swore I'd always be

well, we're always on our way
we're on our way

I find this simply... beautiful. The song is called We're on Our Way by Radical Face. Check it out. I don't really know what music you're into but I really like that song AND the lyrics and I hope you do, too.
Of course, you may already know it, which is great, too. I just thought I should share it with you today.

Enjoy,
xxo P.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

source
Well well, where do I start...?
This book is hard to describe but I should probably mention the fact that it's a "coming-of-age novel", so if you're not into this stuff or if you're too adult for it, you may want to skip this post and check out my recipes or something...

I don't even remember how I found out about this book but I started reading it in Germany a couple of months ago and I loved the first 30 pages. I was then very disappointed when I discovered that you can't really read the whole book on the website I found, so I just stopped reading and decided to start over when I'm back home. And last week I uploaded the book on my E-book reader and started reading it again from the beginning. I'm telling you, it is 224 pages of pure amazingness.

I just love how unique this book is and how none of the characters is annoying to me in any way. I don't think that's ever happened before...

I'm not going to give you a summary of the plot, I'm just going to say that this is one of those books that you just can't stop reading once you start. Somehow everything the protagonist says [the book is written in letters that the protagonist writes to an anonymus friend] makes you agree with him or at least smile, even if some of the stuff is really silly.

There are some really good songs and books mentioned in it, so it actually opens your eyes for great literature and great music, while you're reading.
What's there not to love about this book!

There's going to be a movie based on the book, directed by the writer himself, who also wrote the script. Sounds promising, huh? I really hope this book is not going to be "ruined" after the movie is made. The cast is also pretty good, by the way.
You can read more about the book here and see the trailer of the movie here. It will be released in September.
